Experience leads the way
Decades of life and business experience offer useful perspective. They also create a responsibility to keep learning, training, and adapting.
About Boomer Tactical
Boomer Tactical documents a continuing journey of staying active, prepared, curious, and capable. Decades of life experience provide perspective—but they never replace training, questions, practice, or adaptation.
What guides the work
01
Decades of life and business experience offer useful perspective. They also create a responsibility to keep learning, training, and adapting.
02
Seek qualified instruction, practice with purpose, get outside your comfort zone, and give credit to the professionals who teach the craft.
03
Strength, mobility, preparedness, and practical skills preserve independence and keep more options open for training, travel, outdoors, and daily life.
04
Personal responsibility means being useful to family, community, and the people who count on you when circumstances demand it.
05
Personal observations are not professional instruction. Boomer Tactical distinguishes lived experience from expert guidance—plainly and on purpose.
Founder
I've got experience. I'm still learning. Come along.
Founder
Still learning. Still training. Still moving forward.
Kris Kelley is a 62-year-old business owner and lifelong outdoorsman who decided that getting older was not a reason to become less active, less prepared, less curious, or less capable. Boomer Tactical is his record of continuing to train with qualified professionals, put equipment and ideas to practical use, and share what he learns along the way.
Why Boomer Tactical
There is a large generation with the time, resources, and desire to stay engaged. Boomer Tactical speaks to people who want to keep moving forward without treating aging as decline—or pretending they are still 25. The goal is not nostalgia. It is capability for the life you intend to keep living.
Firearms and tactical training with qualified professionals, approached with humility, attention, and respect for the work.
Gear actually used and tested in practical settings, with honest observations about what works and what doesn't.
Fitness, mobility, outdoor experience, readiness, and practical household capability that support long-term independence.
Editorial standard
Boomer Tactical is a media brand, not a military unit, law-enforcement agency, tactical school, medical provider, or source of individualized instruction. We share perspective from the field while recognizing the expertise of instructors, manufacturers, and subject-matter professionals.
Reviews and field notes explain what was personally observed, used, or tested—and do not claim more than they can support.
When an instructor, manufacturer, or specialist contributes knowledge, the source belongs in the story.
Experience matters most when it remains open to a better method, a useful correction, or a new perspective.
Boomer Tactical invites experienced adults to contribute perspective, follow the field notes, and keep building the skills that make life more capable. There is plenty left to learn—and plenty worth doing.
